The Art of Making Paper Flowers  with  Jo Lynn Alcorn                                            

Paper Flowers Lynn AlcornThe class will first make an organic looking rose, working from supplied pre-cut petals and learning techniques of curling and curving the paper, and construction techniques to put the flower together. Students will cut out a second flower of their own design, based on what they learned from making the rose. Materials- 100% cotton rag paper and vase. Maximum number of students (adults) 10.

Pleat Pattern Origami Designs with Ben Parker                                      

Pleat Pattern Origami Ben ParkerStudents will learn the basics of origami tessellation pleat patterns, which use paper overlaps to create intricate gridded designs. Students will go home having created several twist designs as well as a full-fledged pattern. Maximum number of students 15.

Paper Engineering and Pop-Up Workshop with Yoojin Kim

Paper Engineering Pop-Up with Yoojin KimThis workshop will cover various paper engineering techniques. Students will learn to translate pop-up models into cards or books. Templates will be provided so that everyone can explore various levels of complexity. There are lots of interesting movement and dimension that you can achieve with pop-up structures. At the end of the workshop students will be given the option to bind all pop-up models into a book to take home. Maximum number of students 15.

Expressions of Warli with Prachi Khade-Gurjar

Expressions of Warli by Prachi KhadeThe workshop will first introduce you to the Indian Tribal Art of ‘Warli’, talk about its history and background and how it has made its way from a humble rural setting into the urban. The way in which elements of this art form are drawn will be taught. Once a ‘Warli’ scene is prepared on a card sheet, this sheet would be given a form. Objects like gift boxes, small lampshades will be made out of this ‘Warli’ patterned sheet. Maximum number of students 8.
