Class Description

Calling all plant lovers! Learn how to use the techniques of wet and needle felting to create life-like arrangements of succulents entirely from wool. Each participant will receive a terracotta pot and use sheep wool to shape it with a barbed needle into a three-dimensional felted plant to fill the pot.


Materials
All materials will be provided. A materials fee of $20 is payable to the instructor.


About the Instructor

Elena Gibson has been a practicing fiber artist and educator for over 15 years. Galleries in Connecticut and Massachusetts are representing Elena's quirky work. As an experienced art teacher, Elena has run numerous workshops at the Farmington Valley Arts Center, West Hartford Art League, Mandell JCC, and several town recreation programs. Originally from Slovakia, Elena has a background in graphic design. Currently, you'll find her managing the Fisher Gallery gift shop at the Farmington Valley Arts Center.
