Lawn Party

FVAC is 50 and we are celebrating this milestone with a 70’s-themed lawn party on September 21, 2024 (6-9 pm) at the Farmington Valley Arts Center!

Let’s rewind to the era of bell bottoms and platforms, when flower power ruled and disco fever was the vibe. It was 1974 when a former fuse factory was converted into artist studios and the Farmington Valley Arts Center was born. Thanks to you, we're still here 50 years later, dedicated to enriching our amazing community through the arts. Let's celebrate together! Come rain or shine, our professionally installed party tents got you covered, keeping the good times rolling whatever the weather!

Your ticket includes an eclectic buffet of culinary delights from the award-winning caterer Café Louise. You'll also score a handmade ceramic bowl made by the talented folks at the FVAC clay community. Groove to the beats of DJ Jon Eastman and snag a treasure from our live auction featuring original art and creative experiences. Peace, love, and good vibes guaranteed!

The Farmington Valley Arts Center is "enriching lives through art". We are dedicated to cultivating a community where people can create, learn, exhibit, exchange ideas and inspire each other. We welcome and support participants of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds on their personal artistic journey.

Established as a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) in 1974, the Farmington Valley Arts Center is housed in the historic red sandstone buildings of the former Climax Fuse Factory in Avon, CT. We've been connecting the community to the creative process for 50 years through our educational programs, gallery exhibits, special events, and the unique opportunity to engage with our professional studio artists.

This important milestone marks the passage of time that tells the rich history of our organization; from a cutting-edge fuse factory in the mid-1800’s, to the visionary idea in 1974 of establishing an Arts Center in Avon, CT, to a thriving community of artists and art appreciators in 2024.
