Moiray Giannola – Artist in Residence

Moiray Giannola is currently an Artist in Residence (AIR) at the Farmington Valley Arts Center (FVAC). Mo is inspired by landscapes and the figure. Her work has been displayed nationally, and in many different group exhibitions. In addition to shows, her paintings can be found in many private collections as well as viewed by the public through her public art commissions. She is a graduate of the Hartford Art School, and is currently working full time as an illustrator.

During her residency at FVAC Mo has begun a journey to paint an apple a day as part of a long term public outreach project. Her project "an apple a day" is for a friend, and for everyone who is or has been a victim of domestic violence. "An apple a day", a phrase recognized and associated with good health, becomes a visual record for those suffering from domestic abuse. 365 apples - large and small, painted and drawn - one a day over the course of a year, will create a large impact!

Mo is available year round for commissions, the best way to reach her is by phone or through email.
