Class Description

SMALL CLASS SIZE! Experience a variety of printmaking techniques! Students will learn to create with block-printing, collagraph, screenprinting, and monoprint, while also exploring different subject matters to create unique works of art. We will use our printing skills to create pieces that stand alone and that can be used in conjunction with other mediums, to get a glimpse of the diversity of printmaking.


Materials
We'll start with a collagraph project, please bring the following item to the first class:
- PVA glue (or Elmer’s Glue-All or Elmer’s X-Treme Glue)
- Any low relief textured materials such as fabric scraps, lace, buttons
- Utility knife or x-acto knife
- Scissors

About the Instructor

Lindsay Behrens received her BFA from University of Connecticut in 2002. Lindsay works in a variety of mediums including painting, printmaking, illustration and design and does commission work. She can work figuratively as well as abstract, though in both areas she uses bold lines. Her paintings and illustrations display vivid colorful images with unique compositions.
