Class Description

Discover the expressive possibilities of monotype printmaking! Using water-based paints, watercolor markers, and watercolor pencils, you’ll create vibrant, one-of-a-kind prints. Add an extra layer of creativity by incorporating collage materials directly into your prints during the process, adding depth and texture to your work.


Materials
• Plastic plates (will be included in the first class)
• Watercolor paints
• Water-soluble markers and watercolor pencils
• Brushes
• Palette
• Heavyweight printmaking or watercolor paper
• Collage materials
• Paper towels
• Apron and disposable gloves (optional)


About the Instructor

Melissa Meredith is a professional printmaker/painter with a studio at the Farmington Valley Arts Center in Avon, CT. She is represented in both private and corporate collections. She has exhibited extensively throughout the U.S. She has an MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lives in Bloomfield, CT. She is also an avid gardener and botanist with the title Master Gardener added to her name.
