Class Policy
Registration
Advance registration is strongly recommended to secure a student’s place in class and to ensure that the class will run. Enrollment is limited and accepted on a first-paid basis. Registrations will not be processed without payment. A minimum enrollment is required. In addition, a maximum enrollment exists to ensure the quality of the student’s experience. Only fully paid registrations will be considered as enrolled. By delaying payment, individuals run the risk of being wait-listed or class being canceled due to insufficient enrollment.
COVID-19 Protocols effective March 1, 2022:
All visitors are welcome to choose whether or not to wear a mask at FVAC based on their personal preference. We encourage everyone to make the best decision to protect themselves and others based on their own personal level of risk. Anybody with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 needs to wear a mask, respectively quarantine.
We will continue to closely monitor this change to our masking policy based on our community transmission levels and any updated guidance from the CDC.
Cancellation Policy
Ceramics Classes
Our class sizes are small and we rely on your commitment to go ahead with a class. A refund will be issued for withdrawals of more than 14 days before the class minus a $20 cancellation fee. Students withdrawing 8-14 days before the class will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued with less than a week’s notice.
All Other Classes, Workshops, Spring and Summer Arts Adventures
A refund will be issued for withdrawals of more than 7 days before the class minus a $20 cancellation fee (10% of the tuition for one day workshops). No refunds will be issued with less than a week’s notice.
Prorating
FVAC is not able to prorate classes for any reason. There are no make-ups or refunds if a student cannot attend a class.
Memberships
Membership fees are non-refundable.
FVAC reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment. Full refunds or credits will be given when FVAC cancels a class due to low enrollment.
Inclement Weather Policy
Should Avon Public Schools be closed due to inclement weather FVAC classes are canceled automatically.
For anything else students will be contacted via email or phone message by their instructor or a FVAC staff member.
When faculty or FVAC has canceled a class (for any reason), classes will be made up, typically the week after a session ends.
Payment
Full payment is required at the time of registration in any of the following ways:
•Credit card
•Cash or Checks (there will be a fee of $20 for returned checks)
•PayPal
Class Levels
Unless otherwise noted, classes are open to all and recommended for beginner to intermediate levels. Children should be enrolled within their age groups. Teenagers (16+) are welcome to join adult classes. The Education Staff is happy to field other questions about the appropriateness of any class.
Publicity Waiver
Unless Education Staff is notified in writing, enrollment indicates that the student or legal guardian of the student grants permission to FVAC for use of photographs and/or images of artwork and/or students for FVAC educational, publicity, archival, or grant purposes. These images will be in print, media, or broadcast formats. Written requests denying this permission must be given on or before the first day of class.
