Freelance photographer and photo artist Andy Mars will demonstrate a variety of artistic techniques that you can use to transform your own photographs into unique mixed-media artwork. Experiment with pastel chalk, colored pencils, Sharpies, and other drawing materials while learning to create hand-colored images that range from realistic to highly expressive. Andy will share before-and-after examples and guide you through the creative process.

Please bring a few of your own photos (black & white or color, sized between 5x7” and 11x14”), preferably printed on matte photo paper—such as Strathmore Texture Ink Jet Paper (8.5" x 11") or any matte photo paper (e.g., Kodak Matte Paper Heavy Weight).

Optional printing service:
If you prefer, the instructor, Andy Mars, can print your images for you. The cost is $10 per 8.5x11" print. Please contact Andy at least one week before the workshop to arrange for one or two printouts.

About the Instructor

Andy Mars is a freelance photographer, photo artist & instructor. She photographs events (formerly specialized in weddings), people, and pets. She is a photography instructor teaching classes & workshops in digital photography, iPhoneography, mixed media photography and computer file organization & workflow.
