In this hands-on class, beginners will dive into the vibrant world of acrylic painting. You’ll explore the creative process in three stages: sketching and writing about your chosen subject, transferring your design to canvas, and bringing your painting to life. Along the way, you’ll enjoy instructor demonstrations of key techniques and learn how to use sketches, notes, and memories to develop a piece that feels complete and satisfying. Whether you're new to acrylics or looking to deepen your skills, this class will help you develop a richer understanding of the medium.

About the Instructor

Sergio Martinez, a talented artist from Springfield, MA, has been studying the works of the old masters since the age of sixteen. Under the tutelage of the Chocheli Atelier of Fine Art in Pennsylvania, Martinez received a classical art education and refined his craft, developing a distinctive perspective on the world around him. The works of the old masters served as a source of inspiration, fostering a sense of wonder and playfulness in Sergio's perception of the world. Sergio's professional aspirations, as both an art instructor and a practicing painter, are to utilize these artistic influences as a foundation for the exploration of more relaxed and unrestrained approaches to artistic expression and the interpretation of nature, employing a diverse array of media, combinations, and temperaments.
