Artist Statement
I am a Connecticut-based fiber artist guided by a deep reverence for material and process. My work weaves together diverse natural and up-cycled elements, including raw and hand-felted wool sourced from farms practicing regenerative agriculture and cellulose fibers such as ramie, bamboo, tencel and banana. The materials are chosen not only for texture and sustainability, but for the stories they hold. Rooted in a commitment to environmental responsibility, my practice transforms these materials into rich, textural narratives. Working with intuitive intention, I aim to evoke a sense of place or feeling—inviting viewers to slow down, move in close, and experience the textural beauty of fiber. My recent collections, The Guided Rock and Whispering Threads, reflect my evolving exploration of sustainable materials and the expressive possibilities they hold. I am a spirited Gemini and believe we should always try to leave things a little better than we found them.
