Class Description
Make color with foraged materials and plant scraps. In this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of natural dyeing, from preparing the fabric to processing the natural dyes. Along with creating an array of samples, you’ll have the opportunity to dye your own silk scarf.
Materials
A $15 supply fee is payable to the instructor in exchange for all the necessary materials, including silk, fabrics for sampling, and dye sources.
About the Instructor
Avery Fazio is a visual artist and designer based in northwest Connecticut. She received her BFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design after completing formal training in painting and working as a sewing apprentice. Currently, her work encompasses painting, textiles, and craft. She pursued further education at the Penland School of Craft and was the 2025 artist-in-residence at the Farmington Valley Arts Center in Avon, Connecticut. Visit Avery's website.
