Class Description
For some, mixing colors can be daunting. I know I was quite anxious about it when first starting out; I just wanted to get every color available just to avoid mixing. But, as time went on, I learned different ways of getting to the right color easily and it's made all the difference in the world with regard to being a more efficient painter and having paintings that are more visually pleasing. In this workshop, you will learn how to accuately mix color so that you can create more harmony in your work and stop struggling trying to find the right color.

Mike's main focus is in human and animal portraiture, but he also enjoys painting still-life. He is a member of both the Portrait Society of America and Oil Painters of America.
"Oil paint feels alive to me. It can be pushed, prodded, streaked, and steered. But no matter what you do to it, it will remain true to your intent. I find it a fascinating medium with which to create. It's by far the easiest I've played with, but truly the hardest to master. It's for these reasons, I feel drawn to commanding it."
