Class Description

Children will experiment with bringing different art materials together and letting their creativity rule. They will start by making their own sketchbook to record their discoveries. Each class has a new project that enables students to improve their skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, or working with clay while being encouraged to take creative risks without fear of getting things “wrong”.

About the Instructor

Elena Gibson has been a practicing fiber artist and educator for over 15 years. Galleries in Connecticut and Massachusetts are representing Elena's quirky work. As an experienced art teacher, Elena has run numerous workshops at the Farmington Valley Arts Center, West Hartford Art League, Mandell JCC, and several town recreation programs. Originally from Slovakia, Elena has a background in graphic design. Currently, you'll find her managing the Fisher Gallery gift shop at the Farmington Valley Arts Center.
